ABOUT ME:

Hey, it's me!

Hi!! My name is Daniel Boring. I have a saying – though my last name is Boring I try not to hold up to it!

I’ve held several roles throughout my career, but my core focus has always remained on Enterprise and Infrastructure Architecture. With over 20 years of experience across manufacturing, banking, healthcare, startups, and retail, I’ve designed, deployed, and migrated large‑scale environments spanning Azure, AWS, VMware, on‑prem datacenters. I’m a passionate technologist and lifelong learner who enjoys experimenting with 3D printers, maintaining a home lab, researching emerging technologies, and staying hands‑on with real‑world deployments.

Outside of tech, I’m a fan of all things Star Wars, Dungeons & Dragons, gaming, live music, shows, museums, and traveling. I’m a husband and a proud father to an amazing daughter. Before parenthood, my wife and I traveled frequently—I’ve visited Iceland, Ireland, Mexico, Canada, and many parts of the US.

I’m based in Knoxville, Tennessee, where I work as a Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft.

About Blog:

VirtuallyBoring.com is my personal blog aimed to provide deployment tutorials, break/fix solutions to things I come across with in my home lab and professional work that I want to contribute to the greater community.
