ABOUT ME:

Hey, it's me!

Hi, I’m Daniel Boring — and yes, that’s my real last name! I like to think I don’t live up to it!

I’m a Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft, based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Over the past 20+ years I’ve designed, deployed, and migrated large-scale environments across Azure, AWS, VMware, and on-prem datacenters — spanning manufacturing, banking, healthcare, startups, and retail. The titles have changed, but the throughline has always been the same: Enterprise and Infrastructure Architecture.

I’m a lifelong tinkerer at heart. When I’m not working, you’ll find me running my home lab, experimenting with 3D printers, or chasing down whatever emerging technology has caught my attention that week.

Outside of tech, I’m into Star Wars, Dungeons & Dragons, gaming, live music, museums, and travel. I’m a husband and proud dad to an amazing daughter. Before parenthood, my wife and I traveled as much as we could — Iceland, Ireland, Mexico, Canada, and plenty of the US. These days the adventures look a little different, but they’re no less fun.

About Blog:

VirtuallyBoring.com is my personal blog aimed to provide deployment tutorials, break/fix solutions to things I come across with in my home lab and professional work that I want to contribute to the greater community.
